Join ACPS in Celebrating Principal Appreciation Week, Jan. 15-21, 2023
Join us in celebrating our wonderful school principals in observation of Virginia Principal Appreciation Week, Jan. 15 - 21, 2023. The leadership exhibited each day by our Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) principals serves as the driving force in putting our students first and implementing division plans for the future into action. Our exceptional school principals inspire students and staff every day as they help ensure that our students’ needs are met. They also guide school staff in communicating effectively with families to engage them in the learning process.
“Everyone who walks into one of our schools can see what an impact our principals make in the lives of their students. I want to thank our principals for their dedication, commitment and service as their work supports and enriches the ACPS community in countless ways,” said Interim Superintendent Dr. Melanie Kay-Wyatt.
Principal Appreciation Week recognizes the essential role that principals play as the instructional leaders and chief administrators of their schools. It is through their vision and direction that our principals help to nurture a positive learning environment to meet the educational needs of our students. Principals within ACPS also help in carrying out the 2025 Strategic Plan’s pledge to provide an equitable, high quality education which is accessible and engaging to all students.
In celebration of the professional dedication and achievements of our school principals, all ACPS students, staff and community members are encouraged to recognize the contributions of these dedicated educators. Share your gratitude all week by using #ThxACPSPrincipals on social media and stay tuned on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to follow the celebrations.
