It is meet-and-greet time for all incoming Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) kindergarten students! On Fri., Aug. 16, 2024, kindergarteners have the chance to experience a condensed schedule of a typical school day from 8 a.m. to noon at their respective schools during the annual Step Up to Kindergarten event. This half-day orientation is an excellent opportunity for students to adjust to school and build confidence prior to the start of the academic year.
ACPS will provide transportation for students eligible to ride the bus. Lunch will comply with the Virginia Department of Education’s (VDOE) reimbursable standards and will be charged at the standard rate. Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) schools and students who qualify for no-cost meals are exempt.
