National Board Certified Teachers Recognition
Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) celebrates 16 teachers who have been awarded new or renewed National Board Certification (NBCT) status during the 2024-25 school year. The ACPS NBCT-certified teachers will be recognized for this distinction at a School Board meeting in March. National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in education designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and generate ongoing nationwide improvement in schools. This certification provides numerous benefits to schools, students and teachers.
"Completing this process demonstrates the commitment of these staff members to their own professional growth as well as being committed to providing the best quality in educating our youth. The investment that ACPS makes to support teachers pursuing this national certification shows that we also value the professional growth of those we hire to serve in our schools,” stated Executive Director of Professional Learning and Federal Programs Melvina Crawl.
