Recognition Ceremony Honors Lyles Brothers on Oct. 10, 2022

The City of Alexandria is formally recognizing 2016 T.C. Williams High School (now Alexandria City High School) graduates and track and field champions Noah and Josephus Lyles at a recognition ceremony on Oct. 10, 2022, at 6:15 p.m. at City Hall Market Square (301 King Street). The two Titan graduates have gone on to compete at the highest level of track and field and have served as outstanding community ambassadors. On Sat., Oct. 8, 2022, they will be inducted into the Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) 2022 Athletic Hall of Fame.

At the recognition ceremony on Monday, Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson will read a proclamation. Noah Lyles, 2020 Olympic bronze medalist and American record holder in the 200-meters at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, will be awarded a key to the City of Alexandria.

Other featured speakers at the event include Alexandria School Board Chair Meagan L. Alderton, ACPS Interim Superintendent Dr. Melanie Kay-Wyatt and Alexandria City High School Executive Principal Peter Balas.
