The Alexandria Parent-Teacher Association Council (PTAC) is seeking nominations for its 2024 PTAC Golden Apple Awards. Marking its third year, this PTAC award honors Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) educators and staff who demonstrate excellence in teaching, family engagement and partnership with the PTAs in our schools.
PTAC awarded seven Golden Apples to ACPS educators last year. This year, two new categories have been added:
- Hero: This category acknowledges a staff member or a member of the wider ACPS community who provided significant assistance to a PTA or school during the 2023-24 academic year.
- English Language (EL): With ACPS serving students who hail from more than 119 countries and speak 121 languages, PTAC is recognizing the EL teachers and staff who support these students.
Nominations must be submitted using an online form by today (Fri., April 19, 2024). Recipients of the Golden Apple Award will be announced and honored during or around National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 6-10, 2024.
