Say “Thank You, Teacher!” and Help Us Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5-9, 2025, and we are calling on students, alumni, families and community members to help us celebrate the heart of our schools—our incredible teachers!

Teachers make up the largest group of employees at Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS), and each day, they go above and beyond to support, inspire and guide our students. Now is the perfect time to show them how much they mean to us.

How to Participate
Join us by posting a short video message on social media thanking an ACPS teacher who has made a difference in your life—or the life of your child. Whether it is an acknowledgement to a current teacher or a tribute to someone from years past, your words matter!

Be sure to use the hashtag #ACPSHeartsTeachers so we can find and share your videos throughout Teacher Appreciation Week.

Not sure what to say? Here are a few ideas to get you started:

• “Thank you, [Teacher’s Name], for always believing in me!”
   
• “I appreciate [Teacher’s Name] because they made learning fun and always encouraged me to do my best.”
   
• “I’ll never forget how [Teacher’s Name] helped me through a tough time—thank you!”

This is the perfect opportunity to flood social media with love for our teachers and show them just how appreciated they truly are. Your message could be the highlight of their week.
