Superintendent Search Survey Open Through Jan. 15, 2023

Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) stakeholders have an extended opportunity — through Sun., Jan. 15, 2023 — to provide their input to the Alexandria School Board in an intensive search for a new superintendent to lead our school system. The School Board has reopened the online survey to hear additional voices as they review input from stakeholders about the leadership characteristics needed and our school division’s assets and challenges. The survey extension will broaden the input gathered in this search process.

 

The online survey only takes 5-10 minutes to complete and is available in English, Spanish, Amharic, Arabic and Dari through 11:59 p.m. on Sun., Jan. 15, 2023. It is open to all ACPS students, staff, families and community members, and all are encouraged to participate in this process.

 

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in the search and are assisting the School Board in identifying and screening candidates for the position. Taking additional time to extend the opportunity for meaningful input from staff, families and the community means that the timeline will shift slightly with the goal of appointing a permanent superintendent in April 2023. Feedback will continue to be encouraged and considered as we select the next superintendent to lead our ACPS community to take effect as of July 1, 2023.
