Video: Join Alexandria City Public Schools!

At the Feb. 16, 2023, School Board meeting, Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) debuted the launch of a recruitment campaign titled “Join Our Equity Journey: Live. Impact. Grow.” with a one-minute video following the lives of five ACPS employees who give viewers a glimpse into what it is like to work at ACPS. This video highlights our unique community, diverse student population, professional learning opportunities and more.

The video is one of many strategies ACPS uses to recruit highly qualified staff during a nationwide teaching shortage. At the start of the 2022-23 school year, we introduced a new Twitter account @ACPSK12Careers. ACPS also recently announced a partnership with George Washington University’s (GW) Graduate School of Education and Human Development.

Additionally, we look forward to meeting prospective candidates at more than 35 upcoming job fairs, including the Dual Language Recruitment Fair on March 18, 2023. The ACPS Department of Human Resources staff will also visit a number of colleges, including Howard University, University of Maryland-Eastern Shore and The College of William & Mary. ACPS welcomed more than 150 candidates on Feb. 18, 2023, to the division's first Virtual Licensed Career Fair of the year and hosted an in-person Security Careers Open House on Feb. 23, 2023.
