Video: Welcome to Alexandria City Public Schools

At its meeting on June 1, 2023, the Alexandria City School Board viewed the newly produced video, "Welcome to ACPS", the second in a series to support our 2023 recruitment campaign “Join Our Equity Journey: Live. Impact. Grow.” This brief video leads a digital journey through the City of Alexandria to provide a glimpse of the activities and attractions we enjoy in our city, including historic sites, natural beauty, restaurants and art installations. ACPS’ first recruitment video in February 2023 enhanced the division’s strategic efforts to recruit highly qualified staff to support more than 15,700 students across our 18 schools.

The video series is one of ACPS’ many recruitment initiatives in the 2022-23 school including a new Twitter account @ACPSK12Careers, which allows ACPS to provide real-time updates on job opportunities and the latest developments within the division. Additionally, the division pioneered a new innovative partnership with George Washington University’s (GW) Graduate School of Education and Human Development, offering graduate students direct teaching opportunities in special education.

To maximize outreach and opportunities for potential candidates, the division has participated in more than 40 job fairs. These events offer an invaluable platform for engaging with applicants, sharing information about the division's programs and showcasing the array of benefits and support offered to staff. We look forward to meeting prospective candidates virtually at the Virginia Teachers of Color Job Fair on June 12 , 2023, and the Virtual Hiring Fair Event co-hosted with the Alexandria Workforce Development Center on June 28, 2023.
