ACPS Department of Facilities and Operations Welcomes MeChale’ Johnson as Director of Pupil Transportation and Fleet Management
MeChale’ Johnson is joining Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) as its new director of pupil transportation and fleet management. Johnson accepted her new position with ACPS after serving as the director of transportation within Falls Church City Public Schools. She has previously held various supervisory roles within the transportation divisions at University of Maryland (UMD), Southeastrans Inc., and Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). At WMATA, Johnson served as a bus operations manager, training manager and assistant superintendent of bus street operations.
Johnson received her bachelor’s degree from UMD in criminology and criminal justice as well as her master’s degree in business administration. Johnson begins her role effective Nov. 14, 2022.
“I am excited to welcome Ms. Johnson to our facilities and operations team as our new director of pupil transportation and fleet management,” said ACPS Facilities and Operations Chief Dr. Alicia Hart. “She brings a unique skill set to this position and will continue the focus on customer service, stakeholder support and the innovative trajectory for our student transportation services.”
