Coming Soon: ACPS-GW Partnership Informational Workshop Scheduled for Feb. 24, 2023
On Jan. 23, 2023, Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) officially announced the launch of an innovative partnership with The George Washington University’s (GW) Graduate School of Education and Human Development to expand the number of special education instructional assistants and teachers within our school division.
As part of this program, individuals will be able to apply at the same time to both the GW master’s program and employment within ACPS. This opportunity is open to individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree and are interested in pursuing an advanced degree and employment within the special education field.
ACPS and GW will host their first Special Education Residency Program Informational Workshop on Fri., Feb. 24, 2023, at 3 p.m. via Zoom. Registration is required to attend the event and can be submitted through an online form. The Zoom link will be provided to participants upon registration.
During the informational session, participants will learn more about the program, its eligibility requirements and have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the ACPS Human Resources (HR) Department and GW team. For questions, email HR@acps.k12.va.us to the attention of Margaret Browne.
