Encourage Families to Complete Back to School Packets by Sept. 30, 2022
Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) is using all communication channels available to encourage families to complete Back to School forms for their students by Sept. 30, 2022, so that schools have the information needed for every student. We ask all staff to take every opportunity possible to talk to families about how important it is for them to please confirm emergency contacts, update children’s health information and relay any opt-out preferences, among other items of importance in these packets.
While it is important to have the online information be up-to-date for all of our students, we understand that some families prefer to use printed forms. Both methods are available so that families can complete the Back to School forms according to their preferences. Staff can help families find this information or get assistance from the ACPS Family and Community Engagement team (FACE) if they need help in completing the forms. An instructional video on creating a guardian account on PowerSchool is available in English.
English- and Spanish-speaking families with an electronic device should use the links below to fill out the necessary forms in PowerSchool:
We also encourage our Amharic- and Arabic-speaking families to request a printed Back to School packet from their children’s schools or access the Amharic and Arabic forms online. English- and Spanish-speaking families without an electronic device can also request a printed packet from their school or access the English and Spanish forms online. Completed forms should be delivered to the school’s front office.
Please note that current information from the previous school year will remain in each student’s account. Reviewing this at the start of the school year is important so that families can verify that ACPS and the schools have the most up-to-date information for every student.
