Summer Learning: Special Education Students

Schedule

    • No school on Friday's
    • No school Tuesday, July 4
  • Learning hours: 
    • PreK: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
    • K-12: 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Intervention Programming
  • Students with disabilities will be instructed utilizing reading and math intervention programs designed to increase reading and math skills. Other individual needs, such as behavior and social skills, will be addressed as needed.
  • Students who are recommended for Intervention Programming:
    • may require targeted instruction and/or reading or math intervention in the special education setting during the regular school year;
    • may receive special education services in the special education setting for pre-academic skills or reading and/or math; and/or, 
    • may have demonstrated difficulty mastering content in either area in order to progress in the general education curriculum. 
  • Student registration for Intervention will be completed by the student's case manager. Please contact your child’s case manager if you have any questions.
Extended School Year (ESY)
  • Students with disabilities will receive special education and/or related services provided beyond the normal school year for the purpose of providing a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to a student with a disability.
    • Consideration of ESY services is a part of the IEP process.
    • ESY services, if deemed necessary by the IEP team, will vary in type, length of time, and inclusion of related services, depending on the individual needs of the student.
    • Student registration for ESY will be completed by the student's case manager. Please contact your child’s case manager if you have questions regarding ESY eligibility.
