Open Enrollment Closes May 31, 2023

Now is the time for Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) employees to review health insurance and other benefit options for 2023-24 so that you can make the best choices for you and your family. You can make changes — including to Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) enrollment — through the ACPS Employee Self-Service (ESS). The open enrollment period has been extended through Wed., May 31, 2023, to allow additional time for employees to make changes.

While ACPS recently experienced technical issues with the ESS open enrollment function, these have now all been resolved, and employees are able to make changes using the platform. Any employees who have already submitted a paper copy of the benefits enrollment form are not required to resubmit their changes electronically through the ESS portal, unless an additional change is being made by the employee.

Please see the new plan year rates on the ACPS Benefits webpage. This year, the EyeMed vision rates will not change; however, the United Health Care POS and QHP plans, Kaiser HMO and CareFirst dental plans will change as follows:

• United Healthcare POS and QHP — 3.6% increase
• Kaiser HMO — 2.07% increase
• CareFirst Dental — 4.6% increase

Reminder: To continue participation in the Health and Dependent FSAs, employees must enroll each year. The annual maximum contribution amount is $3,050.00 for the Health FSA and $5,000.00 for the Dependent Care FSA.
