Patrick Henry Field Dedication
The Alexandria community came together for the Patrick Henry Field Dedication on March 18, 2025 at Patrick Henry K-8 School. The dedication marked the culmination of the Patrick Henry redevelopment project.
“This is a special day for the Patrick Henry community – and I want to thank you for your support and express my gratitude for your patience in seeing us through to the final phase of a very long project,” Superintendent Dr. Melanie Kay-Wyatt said.
The field’s multi-use artificial turf includes striping for soccer and baseball and lighting for nighttime use. The field will bring hours of athletic fun to Patrick Henry students during school hours and after school it will be programmed by the City of Alexandria’s Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities (RPCA) for community use.
In addition, Alexandria City School Board Chair Dr. Michelle Rief and members Christopher Harris, Tim Beaty and Dr. Donna Kenley and ACPS cabinet members, along with Alexandria’s Vice Mayor Sarah Bagley and Council Member Canek Aguirre and Del. Elizabeth Bennett-Parker were in attendance, in addition to representatives from RPCA, Moseley Architects, ADTEK Engineers, Keller Brothers construction and Engineering Consulting Services–ECS Mid-Atlantic.
