Staffing for Summer Learning Program: The ACPS Summer Learning 2025 Application is Now Live
The ACPS Summer Learning 2025 application is now live. We will be accepting applications March 14 through April 27, 2025.
Below you will find more information about logistics, teaching positions and the curriculums being used for instruction.
Dates:
Mon., June 23, 2025-Thu., July 17, 2025
- No school on Fridays.
- No school on Fri., July 4, 2025.
Professional Development Days:
Mon., June 16, 2025 and Tue., June 17, 2025
- Mandatory, paid and in-person.
- 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Hours:
- Pre-K (K-Four): 8 a.m.-noon
- Dual Language: 8 a.m.-noon
- Young Scholars: 8 a.m.-noon
- Grades five-eight: 8:45 a.m.-1 p.m.
- High School: 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
- Special Education:
- Pre-K: 9 a.m.-11 a.m.
- K-12: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Teachers are to report 30 minutes before and after student arrival and dismissal times and elementary school staff should report at 7:40 a.m.
Locations:
- Douglas MacArthur Elementary School will serve K-four Ready, Set, Learn!, Young Scholars and Pre-K summer programs.
- Patrick Henry K-8 School will serve K-four Ready, Set, Learn!, and Young Scholars summer programs.
- Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy will serve the K-four Dual Language Summer Learning Academy program.
- Francis C. Hammond Middle School will serve grades five-eight Career Exploration Camp, Dual Language Summer Bridge and Theatre Camp.
- Jefferson-Houston PreK-8 IB School will serve all special education summer programs (Extended School Year (ESY) for Pre-K through grade five).
- Alexandria City High School will serve grades nine-12, music camp, science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) Academy, Governor’s Health School Academy (GHSA) Summer Bridge, Summer Physical Education (PE) hybrid program, Alternative Pathways to Achievement (APA) for the International Academy and Special Education programs (Extended School Year (ESY) grade six-Post Graduate).
Compensation:
- All teachers: $48 per hour, paid one extra hour for early/late report time to support arrival and dismissal.
- Instructional assistants (IA): $21.43 per hour, paid one extra hour for early/late report time to support arrival and dismissal.
- Special education instructional assistants: $22.08 per hour, paid one extra hour for early/late report time to support arrival and dismissal.
- Instructional assistant IV - licensed practical nurses: $24.21 per hour, paid one extra hour for early/late report time to support arrival and dismissal.
