What’s Staying Great:

ACPS continues to offer the same trusted medical plans as last year:

  1. UnitedHealthcare POS (Point of Service Plan)
     
  2. Kaiser HMO
     
  3. UnitedHealthcare QHP (Qualified Health Plan) with a Health Savings Account (HSA)

What's New:

This year, ACPS will experience rate increases across all health plans, including UHC POS, UHC Qualified Health Plan, Kaiser HMO and CareFirst Dental. For detailed information on the updated rates, please refer to the FY 2025–26 Health Insurance Rates.

Past Year's Benefits Information (for SY 2024 – 25)

Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) provides a comprehensive and competitive employee benefits package. Eligible employees have the choice of three different medical plans, one dental plan, one vision plan, and flexible spending accounts. The ACPS leave program includes sick, personal, and annual leave, short-term and long-term disability plans, workers’ compensation, as well as an Employee Assistance Program. Eligible employees  participate in the Virginia Retirement System and ACPS Supplemental Retirement Plan and 403(b)/457 savings plans. Details of these plans can be found below.
