Family Engagement Action Team

Alexandria City Public Schools is excited to launch the division-wide Family Engagement Action Team (F.E.A.T.).

The F.E.A.T. emerged from a partnership with Kindred, a Washington, DC-based non-profit that supports schools and districts in collaborating to create antiracist and liberated communities. Led by a diverse group of ACPS caregivers and staff members, the F.E.A.T. aims to serve as an advisory, advocacy and action body to help advance ACPS’s mission and support all members of the community in thriving.

Get Involved!

The F.E.A.T. is ready to expand! We invite parents, caregivers, and staff to apply to join the team to help advance these goals:

  • Advising leaders on the division’s approach to family engagement
  • Co-designing and advocating for policies and practices that ensure families have equitable access to educational resources
  • Elevating the voices, perspectives, experiences, and ideas of members of historically and presently marginalized communities within Alexandria
  • Taking collective action to build an inclusive ACPS community
