School Support for Afghan Students (SSAS)

Our goal is to promote academic success and support the successful integration of Afghan students and their families into the school community.

The School Support for Afghan Students (SSAS) program offers free services for eligible school-aged children (including PreK–12th grade) and their parents, such as:

  • Dedicated support staff, such as family/cultural liaisons and instructional assistants
  • Academic tutoring
  • Summer and after-school learning opportunities
  • English language classes
  • Social-emotional learning support
  • Family engagement workshops
  • Educational and community resources
  • …and more! 

SSAS Program Staff

  ACPS will provide support to eligible Afghan students and their families through the following staff members:

  • Family liaisons (serving families)
  • Cultural liaisons (serving high school students)
  • Instructional assistants

Program staff are Dari and/or Pashto-speaking professionals.
