Throughout the year, students and families are invited to enjoy the various educational events and opportunities that are designed to explore STEM-H activities and ignite curiosity.
Join the United States Patent and Trademark Office's (USPTO) Office of Education, the USPTO chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and Alexandria City Public Schools for Noche de Ciencias (Night of Science). This program introduces K-12 students and families to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through hands-on activities. Additionally, it allows students and families to discover college and career information in STEM fields.
Join this annual event hosted by the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) that includes a science-themed musical exhibit and raffles amazing science-related prizes (microscopes, telescopes, tablet computers, cameras). The event encourages students to discuss scientific subjects with each other, prompt discussions and questions with their teachers, initiate discussions about science and STEM with their family, and provide some ideas about subject areas they may want to pursue for personal or eventually professional expertise.
