Community Lodgings
Community Lodgings serves approximately 130 ACPS students each year who live in the city’s Arlandria neighborhood through its youth education programs. This partnership offers the opportunity to contribute to the educational foundation of success for all students.

Higher Achievement
A local nonprofit organization helps address the needs of students during their pivotal middle school years by providing academic enrichment, social-emotional tools and mentoring to encourage student success. Higher Achievement’s partnership with Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) began in 2006 in an effort to help close the opportunity gap through its after-school program for students in grades 5-8.

Child and Family Behavioral Health Services
Child and Family Behavioral Health Services (CFBHS) provides school-based therapists at several division schools. Through this partnership, the ACPS Office of Student Support Teams works closely with the school-based therapists in their buildings to determine appropriate referrals for mental health support and help families connect to the service.

UpCycle Creative Reuse Center
UpCycle Creative Reuse Center connects art and the environment through the creative reuse of materials. The nonprofit’s programs and events instill the values that are essential for a sustainable future for ACPS students. For the past five years, UpCycle has been leading out-of-school time programming at 10 ACPS schools and recreation centers. 

Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run Northern Virginia (GOTR NOVA) encourages girls to recognize their individual strengths and celebrate their connections with others through dynamic, interactive lessons and physical activity.

Building Momentum
Building Momentum, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business, is a key community partner for ACPS that encourages the application of classroom concepts in real world challenges for students. Its camps, classes and field trips help empower students to push the boundaries of what they can learn and build.

ACPS PTAs
The Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) affiliated with Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) help carry out the work of family engagement within the division. 

Move2Learn and Best Buddies International
Helping to make a difference through movement is what Move2Learn is all about. Likewise, there are times when extending a hand in friendship is what a student needs to help empower them, and Best Buddies International (Best Buddies) makes that connection.

Casa Chirilagua and Liberty’s Promise
Casa Chirilagua employs a holistic approach, developing a relationship with the entire family as it provides positive after-school activities in Alexandria’s Arlandria area.

Liberty’s Promise strives to help immigrant youth pursue higher education and embark upon meaningful careers.

Parents for Safe Alexandria Schools (PSAS)
The safety of all students and staff is of the utmost importance at Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS). With Parents for Safe Alexandria Schools (PSAS) among our community partners, the school division shares information on gun violence prevention with a focus on safe practices.

Alexandria Library
As a valued community partner of Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS), the Alexandria Library provides a variety of in-person or online books and activities for all ages to learn from and enjoy throughout the year, including the summer months when most students are not in class.
