Vaccine Ambassadors | #WhyVaxACPS
Vaccines play a critical role in helping to protect our community from COVID-19. They also help to keep students in classrooms with their peers and teachers and prevent interruptions to their learning. Since vaccinations became available to school-age children, ACPS has encouraged families to get vaccinated when eligible in order to keep our schools, students and staff safe. As we continue to navigate school during an ongoing public health emergency, that message is just as relevant and important.
To speak to any concerns that families may have about vaccinating our youngest students in the 5-11 year old age range, we are proud to partner with the Alexandria PTA Council and more than a dozen elementary school families who shared these personal testimonials with ACPS parent liaisons. These are their special messages to families who are still considering getting their children vaccinated.
If your child is five-years-old or older and unvaccinated, please consider scheduling a COVID-19 vaccination appointment today! Parents and guardians have a variety of options to get their children vaccinated including Alexandria Health Department (AHD) vaccine clinics, as well as private providers such as pharmacies and pediatrician’s offices.
Thank you for all you are doing to help reduce the transmission of COVID-19 in our schools and keep our schools, students and staff safe.
