Rachael Dischner - Principal

Rachael Dischner is the principal of Ferdinand T. Day Elementary School. Dischner was previously an assistant principal at Randolph Elementary School in Arlington Public Schools and a special education coordinator for Child Find in Arlington before her move into elementary education. She began her career as a special education teacher in Ventura County, California.

Dischner has a master’s degree in educational leadership from George Mason University and a certificate in special education from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California. She also has multiple postgraduate professional licenses including Administration and Supervision Pre-K-12, Early Childhood Special Education, Emotional Disturbance K-12, Intellectual Disabilities K-12, and Specific Learning Disabilities K-12.

Enis Al Majeed - Assistant Principal

Ms. Al Majeed was previously an assistant principal at Oakridge Elementary School in Arlington Public Schools, worked as an EL teacher and a school testing coordinator at Campbell Elementary School in Arlington Public Schools. She was also an EL teacher at Rockledge Elementary School in Prince William County Public Schools. She started her career as a secondary EL teacher with New York City Public Schools. Ms. Al Majeed holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Lehman College, and a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. Additionally, Ms. Al Majeed holds a Master’s of Education in Education Leadership from American College of Education.
