  • Urgent Message to Families New to Free & Reduced Meals Eligibility

    Families new to Virginia and families who may be newly eligible for FARM benefits may recieve a temporary food benefit referred to as P-EBT (Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer). These additional benefits are only available for students eligible for Free & Reduced benefits.

    • If your child was eligible for Free & Reduced Meals last year, you are already eligible for this added P-EBT benefit.
    • If you believe you may be eligible for this temporary food benefit, you must be approved to receive Free & Reduced Meal benefits by this Monday, September 21 at 4:00 PM.

  • Food Access For All to Continue Through December 2020

    The United States Department of Agriculture and Virginia Department of Education have announced that their free meal program will continue through December 31, 2020. 

    All children aged 2-18 whether they are a registered student with ACPS or not will have access to meals via ACPS food distribution sites throughout the fall through this effective continuation of the summer feeding program.

  • Meal times for school sites

    • Meal distribution hours run from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon), with different hours for each “pop up” site (see below).
    • As a reminder, parents/students will not have to use their digital pass cards until Dec. 31 at the earliest.

  • ACPS Student Meals Distribution Plan

    During the Emergency Closure of Schools due to COVID-19

    ACPS has multiple distribution meal site locations throughout Alexandria for all ACPS students and children over the age of two. 


    Grab and Go meals are available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 8 a.m. and noon at the following locations:

    Meals consist of breakfast and lunch and include, for example, fresh fruits and vegetables and sandwiches for multiple days.

    NOTE: No food distribution will occur on Tuesdays or Thursdays. The limited days for distribution is to support the practice of social distancing and to limit social gatherings. Meals for two days will be provided on Mondays and Wednesdays, and meals for three days will be provided on Fridays.

    Please remember to observe social distancing practices while at the food distribution site by maintaining six feet of personal space between you and other families or individuals.

    Anyone exhibiting symptoms of a respiratory illness like fever, runny nose, sore throat, coughing or difficulty breathing on the day of food distribution or in the previous 24 hours should not visit a food distribution site but call a healthcare provider instead. If you do not have a primary care physician and are not enrolled in a clinic, you may CALL an urgent care center or emergency room.
