ACPS Site Safety and Temperature Screening Plan
ACPS is committed to maintaining food distribution and continuing other critical ACPS work during the COVID-19 closure. This involves supporting and protecting crisis-essential operations with updated guidance from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Alexandria Health Department (AHD).
ACPS operates seven temperature screening sites around the city. The screening site locations are located at or near ACPS meal distribution sites and locations where significant maintenance, repair and construction activities are underway.
The purpose of the screening is, through basic measures, to provide protective support to our workforce in helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We do this by identifying individuals who may report to work with an elevated temperature (as advised by the AHD), which is one of the major indicators of the coronavirus.
Every ACPS employee, volunteer, contractor and others who report to ACPS spaces must first undergo a simple temperature check prior to being allowed to enter any ACPS school or facility. Every individual who plans to work at an ACPS site or in an ACPS building must report each day for screening and be cleared.
