Mrs. Catherine Ienzi has been teaching in Alexandria City Public Schools for over twenty years and has been with Maury since 2007.  She has experience teaching third, fourth, and fifth grade.  In 2015, Mrs. Ienzi earned an endorsement in Gifted Education from the College of William and Mary. For the past two years, she has been the Talented and Gifted Resource Teacher at Maury.  A goal in all of her classes is to help guide students’ thinking to become lifelong learners.

Identified TAG students in grades 4 and 5 receive full time instruction from Mrs. Ienzi in mathematics and language arts.  The mathematics curriculum is compacted and accelerated, and the language arts curriculum contains advanced vocabulary, writing, grammar and literary analysis.
