Mr. Rene Paschal, Principal

Rene Paschal is a career educator with over 30 years of experience as a teacher, counselor, and administrator.  In his 21st year as a principal, Paschal came to Tucker in 2011 and believes that he is the luckiest man alive to have landed at a school as special as Tucker. Of our school’s unique spirit, Paschal says, “The broader community embraces diversity at Tucker in a way that has a positive impact on student achievement and school culture.” Father of four and grandfather of eight, Paschal loves spending time with kids in and out of school!

Mrs. Adaarema Kelly, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Adaarema Kelly holds degrees from The George Washington University, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and Susquehanna University. She previously served as an AVID teacher and the Lead Mentor and Restorative Practice Facilitator at T.C. Williams High School. She has a strong special education background, and has a proven track record of building strong relationships with students and securing positive academic outcomes.

Mrs. Kelly brings a strong passion for all things "Tucker" as both of her children have attended here. You may know her from some of her contributions to the PTA over the years, such as the Sweetheart Dance, which she organized. She is energetic, positive and prepared to make this the best school year yet.

Mr. Christopher Speich, Assistant Principal

Tucker welcomes Mr. Christopher Speich as our newest assistant principal. Chris has worked in ACPS since 2011. He began his career working at T.C. Williams High School, where he taught multiple grade levels, coached various sports and ended his time there as the STEM Academy Lead, Department Chair. In 2016 he was appointed Dean of Students and relocated to George Washington Middle School where he worked closely with the students, families, and teachers of our secondary schools to support student success. 

Chris will serve as the LEA for all special education process meetings, as well as our MTSS lead. He welcomes any questions or concerns from families about either of these processes, as well as about any other events during the year.
