  • Ways to Contact the School Board during COVID-19


    On March 12, 2020 Virginia Governor Ralph Northam declared a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic and has limited in-person meetings of more than 10 persons. As a result, in-person public comments are not possible at this time, however, the Alexandria City School Board welcomes your feedback on issues related to Alexandria City Public Schools. Any of the methods of correspondence below will be distributed to all members of the School Board and the Superintendent, although it may not be necessary for each to respond.

    Note: Correspondence with the School Board, or with individual Board Members or other school officials concerning public business, including correspondence by electronic mail, may be subject to disclosure under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. Individual student records are exempt from disclosure.

    Public Comments for Virtual Special Called School Board Meetings will be publicly posted to the Public Comments agenda item on each Virtual Special Called School Board Meeting held on Friday at noon. The deadline for submission will be on Thursday before the meeting at noon. Submissions received after this deadline will be posted on the next Virtual Special Called School Board Meeting agenda.
