With each generation, friends and supporters from the Alexandria community look for ways to honor the successes of athletes, memorialize their achievements, and inspire the current students of ACPS to strive for excellence. ACPS is now able to honor these great athletes of the past, present, and future with a Hall of Fame.

Objective

The ACPS Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes and honors the outstanding achievements of individual athletes, coaches, teams and friends of Alexandria City Public Schools who have contributed to the integrity, promotion, and growth of athletics at the high school level. Inductees of the ACPS Athletic Hall of Fame have performed at an exceptionally high athletic level and have represented ACPS with high standards of citizenship and character. This award also recognizes and honors community members who have made significant contributions to the ACPS athletic program.

Nominations

Each year, ACPS will honor a select number of former Alexandria City Public Schools athletes, coaches and community members with induction into the Alexandria City Public Schools Athletic Hall of Fame. Inductees will be honored with a Hall of Fame plaque on the campus of Alexandria City High School during a ceremony held in the fall.

Nominations may be submitted by the public to the Athletic Hall of Fame Advisory Committee by January 31st for consideration into the next school year's induction. After that time, any new nominations received will be held for consideration for the following year. The AHOF Advisory Committee will submit their recommendations of ACPS Hall of Fame inductees to the School Board for approval no later than the last School Board Meeting in May for final approval in June.
