Douglas MacArthur Modernization Community Meetings

  • Community-wide meetings will be held every two months to keep the community up-to-date with the process and solicit feedback. The community’s feedback will be vital to the success of the project and will be solicited through the major milestones of the new build.


    May 2020 Community Input Invited

    The design for the new MacArthur Elementary School Building is due to be submitted in June to the City for their initial review. Ahead of that submission, ACPS would like community feedback on the colors and materials to be used in the facade of the new building. DLRGroup has shared three initial options for feedback. These may be adjusted once the feedback has been collated.

    Community Input Invited

    ACPS and DLR Group held a virtual meeting with the Douglas MacArthur Advisory Group on March 16, 2020. They heard what the architects learned about how teachers and staff use the current school space as well as what they would like in a new school. DLR Group provided a schematic design update with concept options 1 and 2, that will be submitted to the City on Friday, March 20, 2020. Advisory Group members provided some feedback and we are seeking community input before this submission.
