On Thursday, October 1, 2020, the Division Transition Team assembled from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. This meeting's focus was to hear recent CDC updates from the Alexandria Health Department’s Director, Dr. Stephen Haering, and continue conversations around preparing to phase in students. After Dr. Haering’s presentation, meeting attendees broke into smaller groups to discuss steps to take and data to gather around key areas of planning for in-person learning: building capacity, staff availability, students, transportation, and the instructional model.
Stakeholders Involved: ~20 school, community-based, and division leaders (ACPS Senior Leadership Team, PTAC Rep, Board Rep, and Alexandria Health Department Rep).
Decisions Made: In their small groups, SLT members were able to confirm work that needed to be done and/or that was currently underway.
Next Steps: SLT members will continue to identify action items, data sources, and interdependencies between planning focus areas.
