Aug. 17, 2020 - Parker-Gray Stadium Information Meeting

A project virtual meeting was held to inform neighborhoods surrounding the site of upcoming work. The project scope includes a new concession building, a new restroom, and storage building, a new ticket booth, a new press box as well as the installation of a new rubberized track surface and a new synthetic athletic turf. The meeting highlighted various aspects of the project including construction hours, contractor parking, pedestrian and vehicular access and the schedule. Work will begin as soon as the building permits are issued (anticipated soon) and is expected to conclude in February. The initial site work will include grading, utility trenching, and demolition. The hours of construction during weekdays will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. No work will occur on Sundays or Holidays. The City Council approved the Development Special Use Permit (DSUP) for this project in October 2018. During the Q & A, questions from impacted neighbors included the location of buildings and completion timeframe. Some members of the public also raised concerns about an oak tree that will be removed during construction.
